Stub?

edit

Does this article really qualifiy as a stub? It's got quite a lot of information.

It is a start-class article now already. Chongkian (talk) 04:10, 8 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Taiwan

edit

I know Kaohsiung city is under administration of ROC, but it said Kaohsiung city, Taiwan, ROC. I believe that was not correct, because Kaohsiung city isn't under the Taiwan province. As a result, I did a minor edit to avoid confusion.--Jerrypp772000 00:44, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, I believe that ROC on Taiwan confuses people, it just simply doesn't make any sense, although it might be technically correct.--Jerrypp772000 01:14, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
This had been discussed before, and finally settled on "Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, ROC". It is better since Taiwan and the ROC is not exactly equal. While Kaohsiung City is not a part of Taiwan Province, it is on the Taiwan island. --Will74205 06:32, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
If the Taiwan there means the island of Taiwan, then we wouldn't need ROC. Because it would not be a political division. So I think Kaohsiung City, ROC (Taiwan) is better.--Jerrypp772000 18:07, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Back Up Airport for TaoYuan International???

edit

The 2 airports are more than 300KM apart from each other. How can it be that Kaohsiung International Airport is a BACK UP? Whoever is writing this is being bias, probably someone from Taipei. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.244.112.33 (talk) 08:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flights to TPE often divert to KHH if weather at TPE does not permit landing. This is what "backup" means. --Will74205 (talk) 22:07, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

What happens to flights to KHH when the weather does not permit landing? Do they get divert to TPE? If it does, than TPE is also a BACKUP to KHH. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.244.112.33 (talk) 09:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

While that may be true, KHH is much less affected by the weather than TPE. Also, one cannot deny the secondary international entry point status of KHH, comparing to TPE. --Will74205 (talk) 10:50, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

If so, please take the pain to rectify this in the article. Tell people what is your definition of a "Backup". Certainly your definition of a "backup" is different from mine, as well as most people reading this. Also your argument of KHH being a secondary entry point to Taiwan-therefore it is a backup, is not convincing. Thats like saying Kansai is a backup to Narita, or Pusan is a backup to Icheon because their handlings is less and they are second tier airports. Speaking of backup, Shongshan (or however you spell it)or TXG (Taichung) airport should be the backup for TPE. Not some airport 300KM away.

I don't know why you are taking this "backup" word so negatively. If I work for you when you are sick, then I am your "backup". Flights to TPE usually divert to KHH or even HKG if it cannot land at TPE because other airports in Taiwan don't have the capacity or the facility to allow international entry. --Will74205 (talk) 19:55, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you dont change it, I will--once I set up an account with Wiki. If flights to TPE get divert to KHH or HKG, then you should add HKG to in ( ). Or at least tell people what you mean when you use the word "backup" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.248.246.58 (talk) 02:19, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

What "backup" means here is no different from what it means elsewhere, and I don't think there is a need to explain more here. Also, this article is about KHH, so I fail so see why should we mention diversion to HKG. --Will74205 (talk) 10:23, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Who the FXXK remove cross-strait charter section?

Gāoxióng Guójì Hángkōngzhàn

edit

Gāoxióng Guójì Hángkōngzhàn is not the official name of this airport. When there is a website or source that clearly states that the official name is Gāoxióng Guójì Hángkōngzhàn, then we can add that source to the page. Until that time, it is inappropriate to use Hanyu Pinyin on this page in the way that it was being used because we all know Tongyong Pinyin is preferred by the government of Kaohsiung, at least in some cases. Let Kaohsiung tell us what the name is- no need for assumptions from us. They know what it's called and what they want to call it. Let them tell us via the sources.
