Editing tag added edit

There are several articles relating to Kanesatake that are drastically in need of attention due to issues of NPOV and general style problems. These include the following:

Discussion at Talk:John sha ko hen the tha Harding describes the problem in some detail. There is a proposal to merge that article or some of its content with Kanesatake, Quebec. I'm proposing to do that and then edit the whole mess. Sunray 01:08, 6 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Most of the text from the John sha ko hen the tha Harding article has been moved to this article (Kanesatake, Quebec). It is an account by a participant and needs POV work and fact checking. References have been added under "External links." The John sha ko hen the tha Harding article needs biographical details. Sunray 17:17, 7 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

POV-check template added edit

Hi, I've added the {{POV-check}} template to this article, with respect to the above-mentioned NPOV issues. Not having a great deal of accurate knowledge of the subject, I don't feel comfortable making a judgement one way or the other, but the use of such words as "obsession" and "trampling rights" seem to be definite red flags to me. Thoughts from other editors and contributors are welcomed. --dragfyre 13:43, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Formerly blatantly non-NPOV edit

I apologize in advance for the numerous citation request tags I've placed on the article, but editors should keep in mind that properly referenced material is essential for maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia, without them the information provided is always questionable to the average reader. It goes without saying that libelous statements (especially those regarding living persons) are completely unacceptable in Wikipedia. regards Deconstructhis (talk) 15:26, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

No apology needed; that's what the tags are there for. It took a while, but it seems like the article has finally started to shape up. --dragfyre (talk 20:27, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added history edit

Added 18th and 19th-century history, with more context for land claims, and religious and political dissension. All new content is cited, and new sources are added.Parkwells (talk) 16:26, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

NPOV tag edit

The "Oka crisis" section is written with a pro-mohawk POV, and demonizing the SQ and the government of Canada. Nobody is denying that they didn't do anything wrong, but the article should be able demonstrate this without using unsourced claims nor weasel words.198.103.249.251 (talk) 20:37, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Agree. There may be more sources in the main article on the Oka Crisis.Parkwells (talk) 21:35, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Governance" edit

Why the eff is "Oka Crisis" nested under this heading? Ugh. 216.208.210.178 (talk) 14:19, 19 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
