citation style please

this article predominately cites "Mahabharata, Book , Chapter ." for the reference to where the information is taken so there will be repeated the same citation with just the bk and chap changed. What is the right style to cite that goes at the beginning so that "Mahabharata, Book , Chapter ." is not continuously repeated? Thank you. There are two ways you can rework these references.

The first way is to use shortened footnotes. In this case, you would add an extra section below the References section entitled Bibliography. In this section, you would then put the details of the Mahabharata edition being used, for example:

• Buck, William (trans.); ''[http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=bgnHHqPg6R8C&dq=mahabharata&source=gbs_navlinks_s Mahabharata]'', Motilal Banarsidass Publ., 2000; ISBN 9788120817197

In the text of the article, at the end of the paragraph you're verifying, you would then put <ref>Buck, 2000, p. 94</ref>. This will create an entry in the References section which refers to page 94 of the Buck edition.

The second way to do this is with list-defined references and the {{rp}} template. Here, you would use the following format to cite page 94 in Buck's Mahabharata. At the end of the paragraph in the text, add the following:

• <ref name=buck2000>{Buck, William (trans.); ''[http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=bgnHHqPg6R8C&dq=mahabharata&source=gbs_navlinks_s Mahabharata]'', Motilal Banarsidass Publ., 2000; ISBN 9788120817197</ref>{{rp|94}}

For subsequent paragraphs, you can just use <ref name=buck2000/>{{rp|102}}, where the number in the {{rp}} template is the page number. Note the backslash after "buck2000"; that's important. You can of course replace "buck2000" with whatever arbitrary name you choose, as long as any subsequent references use the same name.
