Transliteration
editThe letters "MP" in Greek are the equivalent of English "B", therefore, the article should be changed to Kalabaka (or Kalambaka). Dragases 13:58, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- You're right, though the city's been transliterated many ways. (If anyone needed a reference, my additional variants come from the historical maps at the David Rumsey collection.) -LlywelynII (talk) 15:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was move per request.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:20, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Kalambaka → Kalabaka — Drag's right above. I tried moving the page myself; but even though Kalabaka is just a redirect here, it apparently has its own history and merging needs an admin to come by. LlywelynII (talk) 16:01, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Reviewing the Romanization of Greek article, I guess it's a bit murkier. Initial Mπ is generally a B, but some people still prefer mp or mb for medial μπs. "Kalabaka" still seems the right call here, though: the city bought all the variants of its name for its website to use as redirects but uses "Kalabaka" as the main page and for its staff email, etc. -LlywelynII (talk) 16:53, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
