Questionable notability edit

I've tagged the article with {{notability}}. All sources but one are in Swedish. The single source in English is a catalog of an exhibition hall, where I guess English would be prudent in order to cover any non-Swedes that might stray there in the tourist season. No signs of notability, only google results are in Swedish. She might be notable in Sweden, but not here.

Per WP:GNG (emphasis added):

"Sources" should be secondary sources, as those provide the most objective evidence of notability. There is no fixed number of sources required since sources vary in quality and depth of coverage, but multiple sources are generally expected. Sources do not have to be available online and do not have to be in English. Multiple publications from the same author or organization are usually regarded as a single source for the purposes of establishing notability.

The Swedish sources referenced (which can easily be machine translated into English) should be adequate to establish notability. Dwpaul Talk 18:01, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Of course the sources don't have to be in English. But all sources but one being in Swedish is a sign that she's not notable in the English-speaking world. Notability in sv.wiki does not mean notability in en.wiki. HandsomeFella (talk) 18:40, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Notability doesnt go to Swedish or English. It goes for notability. Her work is ofcourse best known in Sweden but that doesnt make her non-notable in the English speaking world per say. --BabbaQ (talk) 18:52, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't see anything at Wikipedia:Notability that defines public familiarity and/or publicity within "the English-speaking world" as a criterion for notability or for coverage in en.wiki. Quite the contrary, it says, "Wikipedia articles cover notable topics—those that have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large ... " (emphasis added). Americans and other English-speakers should not assume that the only things that are notable are those written about in English, and we should not assume it on their behalf. As always, if you can point to some policy that conflicts with the above, please do. Dwpaul Talk 19:02, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Dwpaul is right. There is no such thing mentioned at Wikipedia:Notability. If anything English Wiki is very inclusive of other countries notable people. Especially notable people like Kakan, a notability secured by sources in Swedish may so but still sources. --BabbaQ (talk) 19:05, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
You could atleast have had the decency not to place it up for deletion during its time at DYK. Anyway, it will surely be kept anyway. Regards.--BabbaQ (talk) 19:28, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
FYI, I believe Wikipedia:Notability (people) would be the appropriate guideline. GoingBatty (talk) 19:30, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I am sure you are right, but do you see anything there that disagrees with the analysis above? I didn't, but am unable to study it again in great detail at this moment. Dwpaul Talk 19:35, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
The nom has now been closed as speedy keep. I would suggest keeping this discussion to the discussion page. The AfD had the result I expected, a clear keep. Instead find ways to improve it,. If possible. It is an OK article already.--BabbaQ (talk) 20:06, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
