Incorrect distance to Brisbane edit

On the Kairi page, it states the distance from Kairi to Brisbane is 1.698km but I think it is much further away than that! According to google map it is more like 1,376. https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Kairi+QLD+4872/@-24.5428765,146.943993,6.4z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x69789c37de862c3d:0x400eef17f207290!8m2!3d-17.216667!4d145.55 Lilycart (talk) 00:00, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

– Yep, sounds right to me, I measured 1370 km using Google Earth, looks like they might have used road distance. The other distances are wrong also, about 5 km to Tinaroo township, 9 km to Atherton, and 41 km to Cairns. Feel free to update. Cheers, --FNQ (talk) 09:13, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Lilycart and FNQ: They are supposed to be road distances as per Template:Infobox Australian place which says "Distance by road, not direct". I don't know why that particular decision was made. Kerry (talk) 14:49, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
This seems very odd to me - and I've always put in actual-distance when I've done them. The Drover's Wife (talk) 20:47, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Very odd.. I would have used direct distance in the past too, using road distance makes little sense.FNQ (talk) 23:14, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am not aware of how the distance should be calculated, but the Wikipedia page for Kairi states it is just over 1km to Brisbane and it has to be more than that Lilycart (talk) 21:01, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

The distance should have been entered as a plain number, ie. no formatting, 1698 not 1.698 or 1,698. FNQ (talk) 23:14, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
