Difference between JMML and CML

edit

I know that this type of leukemia is different from chronic myelogenous leukemia, but it used to be called, according to this article, juvenile CML. I'm confused here. Does "conventional" CML ever occur in children? Or is all childhood CML really JMML?

conventional CML do occur in children, though quite rare. They are bcr-abl positive and respond well to imatinib. It is separate from JMML. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.94.15.227 (talk) 18:58, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

External links on Wikipedia are supposed to be "encyclopedic in nature" and useful to a worldwide audience. Please read the external links policy (and perhaps the specific rules for medicine-related articles) before adding more external links.

The following kinds of links are inappropriate:

  • Online discussion groups or chat forums
  • Personal webpages and blogs
  • Multiple links to the same website
  • Fundraising events or groups
  • Websites that are recruiting for clinical trials
  • Websites that are selling things (e.g., books or memberships)

I realize that some links are helpful to certain users, but they still do not comply with Wikipedia policy, and therefore must not be included in the article. WhatamIdoing (talk) 06:37, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Our goals for this article are to:

  • verify the information in the treatment section and add on appropriate citations (specifically look for evidence of the claim of having different international protocols)
  • Verify information about prognosis with appropriate citations to support claims
  • elaborate more on the genetics that are correlated with JMML
  • verify that the information on signs and symptoms are appropriate and match with the references
  • resolve all the citation needed prompts
