Rukavina edit

@Tomobe03: Could Juraj be related to Mathias Rukavina von Boynograd (1737–1817)? Djmaschek (talk) 21:17, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Djmaschek: It seems so. Ljubović (the source used in the article) on pp.51-52 states that a Jerko Rukavina, son of Ivan Rukavina (no dates of birth or death known for Jerko, but surprisingly accurately claims Ivan died on 29 May 1699) had two sons - Dujam (birth date unknown, died in 1736) and Nikola (birth date unknown, died in 1729) and states that the two brothers had a total of 12 children and that all Rukavinas born in Trnovac are their descendants. He further states that Juraj Rukavina's father was also named Dujam, but does not say if that was the son of Nikola or the elder Dujam or if there is a generation in between or not. Ljubović provides some information on Mathias/Matija but does not say anything else on his or Juraj/Georg's ancestors. While this source does not say explicitly what was the relation, it discusses the Mathias and Juraj as members of the same family, and the presented information identifies at least Jerko (if not the elder Dujam or Nikola) as their common ancestor.--Tomobe03 (talk) 22:37, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
According to Geni.com (not sure how accurate that is) here [1] and here [2] it would appear Jerko was the father of Dujam (senior) and Nikola; Dujam (senior) was the father of Dujam (junior) who was the fater of Juraj/Georg; Nikola was the father of Josip/Josef and Josip/Josef was the father of Mathias/Matija - which would make them second cousins. This would fit what is known from Ljubović and the sourcce used in article on Mathias too.--Tomobe03 (talk) 23:12, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Tomobe03: Thanks for looking that up. The historian Ramsay Weston Phipps and his French opponents were impressed by Mathias' battlefield performance at the Battle of Loano. He seemed to be more talented than most Habsburg generals of the era. Djmaschek (talk) 02:43, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Inhaber edit

@Tomobe03: B class. It's not clear why the bot only rated this C class. Note that Georg was inhaber of Infantry Regiment Nr. 61 from 1836-1849. You can look it up in Wrede p. 544 here: [3]. I already added the military succession box. Djmaschek (talk) 03:17, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Tomobe03: I added the Wrede ref and material, plus the succession box. (It took me several tries to get the link right.) I'm not trying to steal your thunder; credit for the B class is yours. Djmaschek (talk) 03:37, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Djmaschek: No worries, and thanks a lot for Wrede info!--Tomobe03 (talk) 12:23, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
If that is useful, this source [4] specifies that the 60th Regiment was based in Gospić, the 61st in Otočac, the 62nd in Ogulin, and the 63rd in Slunj (AOR of the 63rd also covering Žumberak area)--Tomobe03 (talk) 12:38, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Tomobe03: I have a book that shows that in 1798, the Croat units were removed from the line infantry and a separate Grenz numbering system was used: Ottocaner became Nr. 2, Oguliner became Nr. 3, etc. Djmaschek (talk) 04:15, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Djmaschek: The above source does not say anything as precise, just that the 60-63 numbering was the result of a mid-18th century reform. Could be both are correct.--Tomobe03 (talk) 07:39, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
