An important article and well-written too. Posting my comments soon :) Sainsf (talk · contribs) 20:05, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Once again, apologies for the delay. A nice, well-written article. Here are all my comments: Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 05:55, 2 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

General
  • No duplinks, dablinks, broken external links, copyvio issues
  • Sourcing: Looks decent and reliable on the whole but this is the first time I'm seeing Britannica as a source. Not sure if one encyclopedia should go for another which is also publicly edited.
Encyclopedia Britannica does accept some submissions from the public, but it's maintained and edited by an editorial team, and as far as I know it's still considered an acceptable source. Alanna the Brave (talk) 18:45, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for letting me know. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:25, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Citations: Fine overall but a few things could be improved:
  • Any authors for ref 2?
Not that I found, but this was actually the one source I couldn't access to properly check out. I've replaced it with a link to a different online article from the AAJ.
  • Book titles should usually be in title case
Fixed.
  • "NPR.org" can simply and more readably written as "NPR". Similarly Google.com and others
Fixed.
  • Accessdate for ref10?
Fixed.
  • Not sure we need ISSN for a newspaper like NYT
It may not be necessary, but it doesn't do any harm -- unless you have strong feelings about it, I think I'll leave it there.
  • In ref 14 "Condé Nast Traveller India" isn't part of the title
Fixed. Not sure how I missed that one. :-)
Prose and coverage
  • What exactly is ref 1 the source for in the lead? Is it something not in the main text?
Removed.
  • located between Nepal and China Is it necessary to say this?
Probably not -- removed.
  • In 2019, a mountain range on Pluto was named Tabei Montes in her honour. It seems like a random example from among the honors listed for her.
I've only listed three honours in the article for now, and the mountain range seemed like the most significant item to me. I think she received some other medals and honours (according to her personal website), but I haven't been able to find good sources to back that up. I'll keep working on it.
  • There should be no period in the Mt Nasu pic per WP:CAPFRAG
Fixed.
  • Introduce Hiroko Hirakawa
Done.
  • Use a convert template for 6,300 meters
Hmm... I didn't even know that template existed! Thanks for that -- I've added it now.
  • Link altitude sickness
Done.
  • team leader Eiko Hisano Here you can say just Hisano
Done.
  • climbing the highest mountain on each continent Maybe the following list should contain Puncak Jaya for completeness instead of mentioning it in the next line.
I've edited both sentences. How does it look now? Alanna the Brave (talk) 18:45, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Lots better. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:25, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

All points have been dealt with, and the article meets all GA criteria in my opinion. Promoted :) Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:25, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
