Trailer link added in EL when official site is already listed edit

What is the purpose of adding the official site (that includes the trailer) and the YouTube video of just the trailer? It's redundant and is common practice to only list the official site (if one exist). Am I missing something here? Mike Allen 21:18, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@WildStar: This makes no sense. What is there to discuss? You keep adding a video that is already included under the section. Mike Allen 21:42, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Mike, as mentioned in my edit summary after you reverted my first edit, stating it to be promotional, I see no reason why an "Official trailer" cannot exist, and as I stated, per WP:ELOFFICIAL. After adding a link to the official website, you reverted my edit again, this time stating another reason. As for your second point, I see no reason why "Official trailer" cannot co-exist with "Official website" as standalone links in the External links section. There are many articles on Wikipedia that have both. To use your argument of not having it because the "Official website" also includes a link to the trailer, this could just as easily be applied to the IMDb link, which also includes a link to the official trailer. Based on that, should all similar IMDb links on Wikipedia be removed as well? No, I don't think so, and neither does removing anything because another website contains a link to an official trailer. — WILDSTARTALK 22:32, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Mike! :) All the best. — WILDSTARTALK 23:01, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I forgot this discussion even exist, but FYI, I removed it because the exact video is embedded on the official site, that is already linked. No other film articles routinely have trailers linked in the external links, only the three articles you added them to (that I've seen). We can bring in the WP:FILM project for additional opinions, if needed. Mike Allen 17:29, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
