This article appears to have been resurrected after the merge. Was this intentional? All of the other items on List of unexplained sounds have their own articles. Why was this one originally merged if none of the others were?

Don't know why it's called "Julia." But, it sounds to me like somebody lost a submarine. That's how the U.S. Navy found "The Scorpion" when she sank in 1968. They listened to the SOSUS network of undersea microphones until they found the sound of an explosion and/or seismic event. They were then able to pinpoint the location of the wreckage, and likewise the time she went down. This is awfully, and all-too reminiscent of that event. I'll bet it was a Russian "boomer." Remember that they lost the "Kursk the following year in the Barents Sea, and they were highly secretive about it. It wouldn't have been a US, or a British sub because you would have too many families who lost a loved one, who would talk to the media. Contradiction needing to be resolved edit
The article says the "source of the sound was most likely a large iceberg that had run aground off Antarctica," and also that "its origin was in the equatorial Pacific Ocean at approximately 15° S 98° W."
These two pieces of information contradict each other. 15° S latitude is nowhere near Antarctica. 199.46.245.231 (talk) 21:48, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
