Predecessors and successors

edit

The infobox should note that the office of viceroy was abolished and a regency established in its place. His "predecessor" as regent should not be "himself as Jefe Político Superior". It should be "regency established". I'm not sure who his successor should be since it appears the regency simply shrank by one when he died and he wasn't replaced. 108.34.151.191 (talk) 05:26, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Spanish-Irish

@60.225.201.249,

I have to dispute characterizing O'Donojú in the opening line as Spanish-Irish. He was not born there, and as far as I can tell did not live there, had no citizenship, and apparently had no ties to the country aside from ancestry. His heritage is front and center in the Early Life section and will surely be picked up by anyone that bothers to read the article. I think that is enough.
