edit"Dominican" is confusing. When I read this, I thought it meant the President of the Dominican Republic. Is "Dominican" the proper adjective for people from Dominica? RickK 05:49, 30 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- gabby
The article now makes it very clear that Bosch was president of the Dominican Republic. According to the online CIA World Factbook, the only proper adjective in refence to BOTH countries is "Dominican". If you ask me, one or both of these countries needs to think about changing their name or something ;) --Dowcet 03:31, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
- yeah "Dominican" refers to people from the Dominican Republic. i don't know if people from the island of Dominica have a different name. J. Parker Stone 05:39, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
- Probably it'll be the "dominicans" from Dominica who will have to decide, specially because the official language in the Dominican Republic is Spanish, and there are already two different words to describe people from both countries. I think that the Dominican Order of Catholic priests will have to be taken into consideration.

POV
editThis is one of the more extreme examples of biased writing. Consider "As Trujillo's dictatorship was getting stronger and meaner, Bosch was jailed for his political ideas, being released after several months. In 1938, knowing that the tyrant wanted to buy him with a position in the Congress....". Is this balanced, unopinionated and non-POV? I don't think so! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.197.15.138 (talk) 06:08, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

This entry does not seem particularly objective, and it is not written in an appropriate style. See, for example, "To this day, he is remembered as an honest man of principle. Over the years, as his luck rose and fell, his political direction oscillated wildly." or "Juan Bosch -Don Juan, as he is affectionately remembered by many..." or "Besides, he didn't return to the Dominican Republic but until April of 1970." Additionally, there are no citations. I thought I'd ask for other comments before making any changes - this is my first foray into editing Wikipedia.
68.190.117.15 (talk) 00:04, 7 February 2008 (UTC) a whole Juan Bosch article without even so much as a *mention* of the role the U.S. government in the coup? ridiculous. please wiki, you can do much better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.171.90.147 (talk) 23:50, 27 August 2012 (UTC) |
