Nickname?

edit

Can you really call "the butcher" a nickname? Would you also call it "nickname" if someone is often called "sh*thead"? --112.198.82.105 (talk) 14:15, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think the Filipino use of nicknames and the use in western countries is somewhat different. In western culture, a nickname does not have to be an affectionate name that people use in place of their own name, so yeah - shithead would be a nickname if someone was known by it. Actually, I think what filipinos refer to as a nickname, is maybe closer to a pet name. Shithead or The Butcher would be a poor choice for a pet name, but the murdering POS who the article is about, certain deserves his nickname. Spacecowboy420 (talk) 14:53, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
