Jost as an innovator of printers' vignettes? edit

I note in Erwin Panofsky, Renaissance and Renascences, 2nd ed. p. 2 "...we shall find it easy to set down the invention of detachable flourishes as an 'influential innovation' attributed to Jost de Negker". I assume Panofsky meant printers' vignettes. This was news to me, perhaps to others, but Panofsky mentions it in passing as if widely agreed... --Wetman (talk) 05:36, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
