Cover image: edition

In identifying the edition I am going by this bookseller's information. The ISBN is 0207954313. The publisher is variously given as Angus and Robertson, TBS The Book Service Ltd and The Macmillan Company, Australia in various places I have looked, but 1971 1st edition seems definite. Good. That's the ISBN listed by the first edition WorldCat record that I have Ext-linked. WorldCat provides some cover images but for Josh only records 40–43 of 44 in chron order![1]

By the way, I revise the caption to "Front cover of unknown edition" whenever the caption doesn't specify, the File page doesn't specify, and I don't readily find image at WorldCat or ISFDB.

I doubt abebooks as a source for ISBN or cover image by edition. Recently I have some exasperating experience about one or the other and I will report which (ISBN or cover image) if I re-stumble upon it. --P64 (talk) 14:13, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Carnegie Medal website review

Revisiting just now (above) I have deleted this paragraph, something I intended to do yesterday.

As the Carnegie Medal winner for 1971, the novel is described on the Carnegie website as being "about overcoming difficulties and staying true to yourself. It's tense and raw with a message for today and an unexpected ending." Josh's situation is said to represent any time or place when people with different backgrounds confront one another.[ref name=medal1971/]

Providing that refname, I noticed that the quotation is from a visitor review ("Your reviews of this book") not from the book or author blurb provided by CILIP. The last sentence does paraphrase CILIP about the book; I expanded the point with quotation in the lead section of the article (yesterday).

I now upgrade this to Start, twice, which may justify deleting material from a contributor review --justifies to myself at least! --P64 (talk) 14:28, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
