At the bottom of the page there is a list of Chancellors during different time periods. The "Third Reich" period lists Hitler and Goebbels. Goebbels was never the chancellor...and he died at he same time as Hitler so he didn't succeed him either. I shall go in and correct this in the next couple days unless someone can show me what I missed. Wood Artist 08:04, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Missing years

edit

Under the subhead "Nazi era," I have supplied a condensed translation regarding 1933-45 from German Wiki [1], and at the end added a sentence about his death in 1956. Sca (talk) 17:07, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Unfortunately, like much of the German WP (and sadly this page) the material you have added is completely unsourced. Drow69 (talk) 19:20, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
No, it's not. I've added two citations from German Wiki. Anyway, it was absurd to have nothing on those years of his life. Sca (talk)
Excellent. Although there is no footnote to the FAZ article in the Nazi section of the German page. If I get a chance I'll try to add some other references to the main body of the text. Drow69 (talk) 10:45, 29 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Added more from 1922 speech, with cite. Sca (talk) 18:41, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Enabling Act

edit

"Wirth spoke passionately in the Reichstag against the Nazi-sponsored Enabling Act, which gave Hitler dictatorial powers. Wirth voted in favor of the Act along with the rest of Centre parliamentary fraction on 24 March"

Is it actually true that he spoke "passionately" against the Enabling Act but then voted in favour of it? Not entirely impossible, of course, but we could do with some explanation if true. The relevant article says that the Centre Party split over the Enabling Act, but as most of the worst damage is done on wikipedia by people who know a little bit about the topic in hand but whose knowledge falls far short of expert, I'll leave it for someone who knows more than me.Paulturtle (talk) 20:14, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
