Comment edit

Aside from being co-founder of Bethlehem Steel, Joseph Wharton apparently spent some of his early years managing the Southwestern Mining Company in the Colorado (Eldorado Canyon) Mining District of southeastern Nevada. The company, in operation from 1862 to 1897, owned all of the productive mines and mills in the district as well as its own fleet of steamboats that plied the currents of the Colorado River transporting supplies in from the Pacific coast. This information is according to Vanderburg, William (1937) Mines of Clark County. U.S. Bureau of Mines Infomation Circular 6964.

Hagiography? edit

Could this entry be more hagiographical? Apologies if this entry is in fact some advanced form of irony. Rykalski (talk) 20:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
