Was he really an atheist? I saw that claim recently in a critical review of his thought by a religious conservative, for whom it served the purpose of helping to delegitimize Fletcher's thought. If a sufficient amount of time goes by and no citation is given, I propose removing that statement from the article. However, it might've been true! So I'll look for a source and I hope others will.
