Dachau murder investigations: inconsistencies edit

No contradiction edit
TEXT: The 1968 edition lists Josef Hartinger as a former Kriegsgerichtsrat (Judge-advocate with equivalent rank as Major) of the "Höheres Kommando LX" (a communications division of the Wehrmacht). Whether such a position would have afforded him scope for war crimes is arguable but it contradicts the record in the Bavarian State Archive that shows him working as director of the district court ("Landgerichtsdirektor") in the town of Amberg from 1936 until the end of the war.
Does the sources claim that it is a contradiction, or did the editor draw that conclusion? I do not believe it is a contradiction. He would have retained his position as Landgerichtsdirektor, while being drafted into the Army and serving as Judge-Advocate. You didn't lose your job when you were called up, especially not a judge and civil servant. Unless "working" actually means that he was in actual service in Amsberg during the war, and not just retained in his position, which he would go back to when the war was over.
