Barn edit

Why was the historic barn demolished recently if the ranch layout is being restored to its original state? Julia Rossi 00:00, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Got me. That's what the National Parks Service says. howcheng {chat} 03:11, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Additional info edit

I am not sure how to update the wiki but here are some additional info

Officially: - open on march 16, 2013 - Total restoration: $3.75million - Total exterior restoration of the house cost: $1.75million

Unofficially, the total restoration is estimated to be around $5m per a member of the historical society of Milpitas.

The building was purchased from the nearby church to the city of Milpitas, who wanted to move the street a few feet and needed money to build their church. It took 15 years for the deal to happen. According to the historical society, the church and the city of Milpitas don't like each others. That' why on the day of the opening of the park, the church declined to let anyone park in their private parking.

The main building cannot be visited yet because it is not been renovated. The barn in the back of the property was destroyed because it was in a fixer upper shape. The architect took pictures of the property and rebuild the barn.

All paid by Milpitas tax payer "voluntary". Yes4me (talk) 17:23, 16 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
