I have rearranged and rewritten the content to some extent, but the original material read strongly as if stolen directly from a public relations page or other copyrighted and non-neutral website. Please continue to rewrite and rearrange this article and add new information. plmoknijb (talk) 18:38, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have corrected the place of birth: Mieres, Asturias, Spain. 62.57.74.103 had changed it recently to Santa Coloma in Barcelona, do not why. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.6.242 (talk) 09:37, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Continuing effort to improve style and content

edit

As noted by Plmoknijb several years ago, this article needs help. I've taken a few whacks in the past, but it still reads more like a resume than a Wikipedia article. Unless someone else tries first, I'm going to start taking pruning shears to this thing!--Larry (talk) 01:25, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, I've sliced and diced it. Now it's someone else's turn. The article still needs more citations, the biography is weak, and it still reads a bit like a resume.--Larry (talk) 00:22, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

"External Links" Problem Solved?

edit

There's an {External links} warning on this article, dating back to April 2010: "This article's use of external links may not follow Wikipedia's policies or guidelines. Please improve this article by removing excessive or inappropriate external links, and converting useful links where appropriate into footnote references." I think the problem has been solved. Comments?--Larry (talk) 22:20, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm...crickets! Guess I'll delete it.--Larry (talk) 23:23, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

edit

Now that José Andrés has United States citizenship (per the reference in the lede), WP:OPENPARA indicates that his nationality should reflect his current citizenship. Thus, the lede should refer to his American citizenship. I reverted a change which removed the reference to American (in "Spanish American"). WP:OPENPARA also states that his past citizenship should generally not be mentioned -- unless relevant to the subject's notability. In this case, Andrés' style of cooking (Spanish) is important, so I think it's fair to also include "Spanish" as well. Comments? --Larry (talk) 18:26, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Humanitarian work

edit

I feel like this page needs a section dedicated to his humanitarian work. This feels like what he has been most notable for over the last 5-10 years: https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/-jose-andres-chef-gaza-israel-war-ea9512f8 Sawitontwitter (talk) 13:56, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
