Police chief's speed trap edit

Is there any information about the police chief who didn't draw a salary but instead got his income from speeding tickets from passing motorists? IIRC, the speed limit on US 95 dropped dramatically from 55 mph to 25 mph and he would nail anyone who failed to see the new speed limit and react in time. Since most motorists passing through town were on their way from Idaho to Nevada (or vice versa), there wasn't much chance they'd come back and fight the ticket. 66.234.220.195 (talk) 15:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Here's an old newspaper article about the Jordan Valley speed trap and the controversial police chief who allegedly made a lot of money off of it: Jordan Valley residents defend Police Chief Arritola 108.246.206.139 (talk) 15:46, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

History section reworked edit

Hi everyone. I've just finished up on a drastic expansion of the history section. Please take a moment to look it over. If anyone has ideas of topics I could expand it with, feel free to make suggestions. Thanks! Skeletor3000 (talk) 20:03, 19 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Jordan Valley speed trap edit

Jordan Valley no longer has a police department, and is currently served by the Malheur County Sheriff Department. The speed limit on US 95 between Nevada and Idaho is now 70, but there is ample warning before entering Jordan Valley and speed traps are no longer very common there. 216.110.212.67 (talk) 20:30, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
