Jewish?

edit

Over on the page dealing with Willow Rosenberg, it mentions that she (that is, Willow) is the only Jewish character on Buffy. I thought Jonathan was also Jewish. Anyone know for sure? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.84.19.246 (talk) 18:28, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Witch?

edit

Does Jonathan in any way identify as a "witch" in any way shape or form or is he simply someone in the show who uses magic? Zythe 12:49, 19 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

He's definitely not a witch (or 'warlock,' as the show established is the male variant of the word). He's not as deep into the rituals and customs of the black arts, like Willow or Amy are. You're right, he's just a guy who sometimes uses magic.84.87.44.224 14:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

history of jonathan

I think something should be mentioned about how other than the main characters, Jonathan is the only character to appear in 6/7 seasons. (not to mention the pilot!)

Does anyone know why this is? Did he have a relationship with someone in the crew/cast? His roles (besides season 6) were sometimes 'behind the scenes' i.e. Dead Man's Party, inca mummy, Go Fish, etc. And when Willow interrogates him in 3.18, I can't imagine this was foreshadowing, but the parallel to Willow's later 'interrogation' of Jonathan in season 6 is definitely worth pointing out.

Jonathan is just one of the things (others include the Bronze, the Espresso Pump, amy, the main st) that tie each season to the next and really give the whole series continuity. Plus it’s just a nifty piece of trivia.

I wish I knew more about it, if I find out I'll add! ~M
