The statement "laboratory tests revealed that [the caffeine content of one piece of Jolt gum is] only 12.7 [milligrams]" is a serious accusation since on Jolt Gum's web site ( http://www.joltgum.com/ ) it states, underneath their motto "Chew more, do more," "2 pcs of Jolt Gum = 1 Cup of Coffee." Since a typical 200 ml (7 fluid ounces) cup of coffee contains 80–140 milligrams of caffeine (according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee .)
In other words, you appear to be making a claim which, if true, would mean that Jolt Gum's claim on their web site is false advertising. I suggest providing a link to the reference for the laboratory tests to which you refer. Webgrunt 23:26, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Jolt Gum's website makes no claims as to actual measured caffeine content in terms of MG so there is no 'false advertising' argument as nowhere do they state 40MG of caffeine is in their product. (As pointed out, using a 'cup of coffee measurement is not reliable) Earlier footnote to Jolt's caffeine content (http://www.energyfiend.com/caffeine-content/jolt-gum) was in fact, footnoted with a link to an actual test result. Both this and actual referenced test footnote was brought to surface in article to support MG claim of previous edit. Nonesuch13 16:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
I see that the unverifiable claim about the "laboratory tests" which allegedly found Joly Gum to contain only 12.7mg of caffeine per piece has been deleted. Thank you. Webgrunt 23:28, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
