Who were Johnston diagrams named after? Was it the British logician William Ernest Johnson? Note the different spelling. See Scientific phenomena named after people. DFH 12:36, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Difference with Venn diagrams

• This is how the article was started in 2002, by an IP (207.6.192.108) which now resolves to British Columbia.
• The original stub basically explains that Johnston diagrams are exactly the same thing as Venn diagram, only for propositional logic instead of set theory.
• The original stub links to [logictutorial.com], a site registered by Russell Johnston in British Columbia. [1]
• Regardless of whether the idea of renaming Venn diagrams when using them for propositional logic has any merit (I don't think so), it certainly makes no sense to name them after the author of this dubious site.
• The article has been tagged as completely unreferenced for 2 1/2 years, since November 2006. [2]
• The article has been tagged as orginal research for 1 1/2 years, since January 2008. [3]
