development and article title change
editIt was pointed out that the Masonic Temple building, notable as an NRHP-listed historic building, is now the Johnson County History Museum. I added some info here, using link provided by Nyttend. I am setting up Johnson County History Museum as a redirect to here for now. This is an article about the building.
As a museum, the Johnson County History Museum is itself notable and merits an article anyhow. Depending on how someone might want to develop that article, coverage of the building could be a section there and could include the NRHP infobox or other infobox about the building, and this Masonic Temple article could redirect to there. But if the building info is too much for the museum article, the building info could be left here. I defer, anyhow, to whoever wants to replace the redirect and to actually develop a decent article on the museum.
Also, I tried to find any Indiana state documents on the NRHP listing but found nothing online to add more substance to the article. Maybe someone else could do better? --doncram (talk) 16:07, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- No, we can't. Indiana's level of online National Register presence is quite poor; the only online information that I've found is nomination forms for relatively recent listings (example) and for a few downtown historic districts or courthouses, but just one per county, not both (example). We'd have to get printed documents, and Franklin is far enough from here that I don't plan to go there to get sources. I can check in the university library here for a Johnson County history if you want. No opinions on your other comments, except to say thanks for giving your opinions.
