"Whiplash" short edit

Surprised that there isn't any thing other than the filmography reference about the fact he was in the original "Whiplash" short but was replaced by Miles Teller in the feature. Can't recall off the top of my head if he was unavailable/replaced for the feature or that Teller couldn't do the short. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.171.227.39 (talk) 02:06, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

too much detail edit

Is it necessary mentioning the elementary and middle school he attended? --Melaen (talk) 08:18, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

factual errors edit

So a guy born in 1986 is the 'nephew' of a Founding Father and cousin of a Civil War general? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.47.77 (talk) 20:52, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Personal Life Details edit

Simmons dated British actress Emma Watson in 2011.[1]

Above is the edit I provided. This edit was removed. The editor who undid my edit provided the reason why "Ok, sure, but dating someone isn't inherently of encyclopedic value" I asked why this was their reason and the editor said the following "In my view, someone's dating life doesn't rise to the level of belonging in a biography (short of something notable coming from such activity)." Their reasoning was because it was their own view point and didn't provide a link to an article concerning any policy on this encyclopedia.

So, if it is not to much to ask, can a consensus be reached regarding the information I provided?

My reasoning for providing the information above is as follows:

1. The inclusion of Johnny Simmons' relationship with British actress Emma Watson in 2011 on his Wikipedia page is justified for several reasons. Firstly, Emma Watson is a globally renowned actress known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, as well as an activist, which adds to the notability of the relationship due to her celebrity status.

2. the information is backed by a verifiable source, a dated article, meeting Wikipedia's sourcing criteria. Please see WP:Reliable sources/Perennial sources.

3. Furthermore, celebrity relationships often generate public interest and media coverage, making it relevant to Wikipedia readers who may be curious about the personal lives of public figures.

4. Lastly, Wikipedia aims to serve as a historical record of notable events and facts. Documenting past relationships of public figures can be relevant in understanding their life journey and experiences at a particular point in time. Bibliophile Dragon (talk) 18:32, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a collection of indisicriminate information. Just because the public likes to gossip about celebrities dating life, that doesn't mean it belongs in an encyclopedia. --ZimZalaBim talk 18:38, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then I implore you to share this information on all of the talk pages of every celebrity who has a Wikipedia article, which has personal life details, with that specific information. I genuinely hope you don't find yourself in an edit war. Bibliophile Dragon (talk) 18:58, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's not a strong argument. --ZimZalaBim talk 19:02, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
