edit"[K]nown for its statuary and ecclesiastical products" is … well, flabby, and rude twd. our many less-churched users.
I was (prior to the age of reason — and not to be confounded with Thomas Paine's deist tract "The Age of Reason") an Episcopal acolyte (of the Lutherans-who-got-money, rather than the Roman-Catholics-who-flunked-Latin breed).
Notable ecc'al products include
- consecrated glass cruets of wine and water,
- the chalice that delivers the merged liquid to the communicants' respective lips, and
- a (perhaps) consecrated (but dubiously effective) linen napkin for wiping the chalice between sippers, and symbolizing disregard for public-health issues.
(By the way, the monetary link inherent with the above process was disguised by a clever sealed envelope with two compartments, respectively intended for contributions in support of parish expenses, and those in support of proselytization among benighted foreigners.
