Birthdate
editLilbit17 has stated on the editor's talk page that the birthdate for John Warren is incorrect. The editor states that he/she is a relative of John Warren and can provide a birth certificate that Warren's birthdate is 17 Jan 1947 not 17 Jul 1947 as stated on Warren's NBA.com] player page. Right now the birthdate is as stated in the source and I believe it should stay unless a more reliable source is provided. A new name 2008 (talk) 19:04, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- The new edit to change to just 1947 is a good compromise. A new name 2008 (talk) 19:08, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't see this discussion. But yeah, let's just leave it at 1947. The NBA could have made a mistake. Zagalejo^^^ 19:16, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Wrong way basket
editLilbit17 has also stated on the her/his talk page that the information about the wrong way basket is libelous. It is an interesting fact about John Warren and appears to true. It definitely is verifiable with a reliable source, Sports Illustrated article. I do not believe the way it is currently written is libelous. A new name 2008 (talk) 19:15, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- Here's a 1971 newspaper article that mentions the incident: [1] There are other sources available, too. We shouldn't give undue weight to the fact, and I tried to throw in a little more info about his college career to balance things out. But I'm pretty sure there's nothing here that could be considered libelous. (IANAL, of course...) Zagalejo^^^ 19:22, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
