That's the first time I heard it was a 'red hot' poker. A reference for that would be appreciated. Red heat in pokers suggests premeditation -- it's unusual for a poker to rest in the fire. Wikid 18:55, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The precise events are disputed (I suppose the article ought to say that) but some accounts certainly say that it was red hot, whether by accident or design - see this review of Wittgenstein's Poker. -- ALoan (Talk)

Good to see the balanced rewrite! I think the poker episode would be worth an article of its own -- it was, after all, worthy of a book. Then everyone present could have their biographies footnoted with "present at the Wittgenstein's Poker episode". Wikid 08:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
