Moved Page edit

I changed the name of this page from J.R. Hendricks to better reflect the way his name was regularly used in his lifetime. John R. Hendricks is the way he usually signed his articles, papers and books. Harvey Heinz 19:14, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spam Link? edit

A link to my geocities site is in the original version written Oct. 30, 2004 (not by me). It, and a link to his Hendricks original site which I maintain after his death was still there on Sept. 20, 2008. His site contains much additional material on his life (including pictures).

On Nov. 3, 2009, I replaced the no longer existing geocities site (Geocities has closed down) with the location I have moved it to. Both links were deleted. On Nov. 4 I reposted, just as a check. And again, both these links are gone. But a third external link (not as relavent) still exists.

It now looks like whatever link I post, regardless of relavence, and regardless of what artilce I post it too, will be deleted. On Nov. 3, I replaced the link to the no longer existing http://geocities.com/~harveyh/ site in many articles with the same site, but new location http://magic-squares.net. In most cases pointing to a particular page on that site which I considered added material to the particular article. All thes links have been deleted, even though in most cases the geocities link had been there for some years.

While I appreciate the need to control the use of external links, I think this blanket surpression is unfair. It defeats the whole purpose of accessing additional material to support an article. --Harvey Heinz (talk) 22:39, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
