In main space since 2017
editMikehawk10, I’m afraid I don’t see this as an appropriate use of draftify, as the subject is notable and a valid stub has been in main space for four years. If you see the recent changes as unacceptable, I think the appropriate course is to revert those and comment here especially as this appears to be the subject of a WikiEd course. Thanks for the consideration. Innisfree987 (talk) 05:25, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Innisfree987: I draftified the article when it was this revision. I understand that this is part of a Wikied course, though it appears to be in the midst of a Wikied-inspired restructuring, which I why I've moved it to the draft space for incubation. If you object to my moving it to the draft space, and would prefer it to be in the article space, then I won't oppose a procedural move back. However, if the article starts to become quite a bit of a mess during the restructuring, it would probably not be the best given that this is a WP:BLP and eventualism isn't something we typically tolerate in that space. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 05:30, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Mikehawk10 Thanks for the quick reply. Agreed that eventualism is not appropriate for BLPs, which is why I suggested reverting the changes (it seems the problems were introduced only in the two edits prior to your diff). Typically WikiEd students are asked to work up significant changes in their sandboxes for review prior to adding to entries; this has its own issues but I suppose not leaving BLPs under construction is the main advantage. I do tend to think that’s the best course here per policy that draftify should not be a backdoor deletion (precisely because I share the concern about lingering disarray unless there’s a more formal structure imposed, and the possibility of the entry disappearing indefinitely.) Pinging course head Hgarth and the WikiEd liaison Ian (Wiki Ed) to alert to the issue. Innisfree987 (talk) 05:55, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Innisfree987:Just to clarify: I don't believe that the article should be deleted; the individual's certainly notable and deletion would not be appropriate. I picked the draft space because it felt like it was a good non-mainspace option, though I recognize your concern about the potential for this to be neglected and deleted by our forgetfulness if it never gets moved to the mainspace. I'm not really familiar at all with WikiEd (I had a professor assign my class to write a Wikipedia article once in college, but we never interacted with WikiEd), so I'll defer to you or the liaison and instructor's expertise on this sort of stuff. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 06:03, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Mikehawk10, absolutely, I almost said and just should have—I’m not concerned about deletion because of you, just because of the potential to become a bit intractable and disappear into G13 land. Thanks for your understanding. I’ll take a crack at cleaning it up now and chat with the course folks whenever they are back online. Innisfree987 (talk) 06:06, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- You know, on second thought I’ll just clean it up; it’ll be quicker. Innisfree987 (talk) 06:03, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

- Per consultation at WikiProject Black Lives Matter, I’ve tidied the entry and moved it back to mainspace to avoid duplication of drafts. Innisfree987 (talk) 23:31, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
