John J. Davis (congressman) → John James Davis – Subject's gravestone is inscribed "John James Davis", a document published by the American Historical Society refers to him as John James Davis, History of West Virginia, Old and New, Volume 2 as well as A History of Shenandoah County, Virginia specify "John James Davis", Our Campaigns lists him as "Davis, John James" and the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress gives his name as "Davis, John James". — Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 05:10, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
