'Caunter was educated at the Military College at Hertford' (in the time leading up to 1811). Would this be the East India Company College at Hailey, Hertfordshire? However, the article on that College specifies that it trained administrators, not military men; the latter took place at Addiscombe Military Seminary, Surrey.
