Although I translated this in good faith, the original French Wikipedia article itself appears to be a translation from the "Encyclopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador, Volume 2 pages 463-464", published in 1984. Thus the original article almost certainly qualifies as a copyright violation and by extension so does this one.
