"journalist" or "author"? edit

Hi, @Risk Engineer: I'm wondering about your change of "author" to "engineering journalist" in the lead. Was Trautwine a journalist? The cited sources talk about his engineering reports and handbooks, which would appear to be works of engineering, not journalism. PRRfan (talk) 15:04, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cheers PRRfan ... thanks for the comment. there is a Category:American engineering writers that has 24 pages are in this category. I would definitely recommend putting Trautwine in this category. As to the other 24 people in this category the structure of the articles very. Compare William Hubert Burr and "published works" to that in Richard Felder with professional contributions. I agree with you on your assessment that the section titling is problematic and thank you for reaching out to me to discuss this. We can go back to making this material part of the career section or retitle the section to Legacy. I would propose the latter. Your thoughts?... cheers Risk Engineer (talk) 18:05, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @Risk Engineer: thanks for discovering the American engineering writers category; Trautwine definitely belongs in it. As for the section title, how about "Engineering writings"? Or perhaps "Engineering reference books"? Or simply just "Books"? PRRfan (talk) 18:49, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
