Political Graveyard (ref above) has for him "candidate for Democratic nomination for Vice President, 1888;" has the only support for our article United States presidential election, 1888#Democratic Party nomination lk'g him as the minor contender for the VP nom, but the identification of the two as one is not a slam dunk.
