sense edit

i cant make much sense of this sentence: "At the Carnini's funeral, authorities claimed, Cacase pointed out Variale and Santora to yet another pair of hitmen who later killed Variale and Santora outside a Brooklyn social club in broad daylight in which he had effectively concealed his involvement." Joel J. Cacace Sr. (April 9, 1941 Greenwich Village, Manhattan) also known as "Joe Waverly", is a New York mobster and acting head of the Colombo crime family who tried to assassinate a federal prosecutor.

It doesn't say born nor specify why it says that in parentheses. There's no citation of his birth place though nor his Joe Waverly nickname.

He was born to first generation immigrant Joel Cacace Sr. and his unidentified wife who were from Puglia, Italy.

If you're going to explain in detail, you need sources. You can get away with writing some of the basics without citation. But to claim his mother was an unidentified women with no link is not reputable and seems shoddy. There's no source they were from Puglia, Italy and that his father is Joel Sr. either.

He had two failed marriages. His first wife was an Irish-American woman named Kimberley Kennaugh who was first married to Enrico Carrini, a made man in the Colombo crime family who was murdered as he sat in his parked car in South Brooklyn in 1987.

Where is the citation to this man's death in 1987? Where is the citation to his marriage and divorces to this and the other women? Where's the citation that she's Irish-American or her name is Kimberly Kennaugh?

Kimberley later divorced Cacace and married New York Housing Authority officer Ralph Dols, dubbed "the Gentle Giant" by the area residents where he was posted.

With citation of her in the article, there's no purpose of describing events in her life in this article. There's no citation of this supposed Housing Authority Officer Ralph Dols and it'd seem ironically contradicting how you'd end up from a criminal to law enforcement agent.

On August 25, 1997, Dols, off duty and on his way home to his wife and children, was ambushed and shot multiple times by two men clad in black clothing and gloves outside their home at East 19th Street and Avenue U in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He died several hours later in Coney Island Hospital. Investigators believe that Joel was jealous about his wife's new marriage and was the unidentified gunman who murdered her husband.

You give exact dates and locations of such events, yet no source? No news paper articles? As I've stated before though, without her in the article, he's irrelavent.

His wife Kimberely Kennaugh had also been married previously to Colombo crime family capo Thomas Capelli and Enrico Carini who was shot to death while she was married to him by unknown gunmen in 1987.

So she went from having two marriages with mobsters to a law enforcement agent? It'd seem questionable why the law enforcement agent would want to do it - at least in that order. There's no source to the capos in this article either. Or perhaps anything in this article.

Joel later married a woman named Diane Marie who bore him one child, Colombo crime family associate Joel Cacace Junior, who was arrested for union racketeering in 2003. Joel has formed close business ties with the Genovese crime family, specifically mob associate Carl Carrara Sr, who controlled the Local 14 and 15 unions along with Morris Diminno and extorted AMEC Construction worksites at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan and dozens of others.

There's no citation to this either. But he wouldn't be necessary in the article at this point.

Persico felt that Aronwald was disrespectful to him during his 1986 trial and Rudolph Giuliani.

Why would Persico care if Aronwald was disrespectful towards Rudolph Giuliani? If anything, he would have encouraged it considering Giuliani was his enemy (a prosecutor) and single handedly destroyed or significantly reduced his family's illegal business.
