The contingency entry is an accounting entry in the budget that gives some leeway in reaching the projected budget balance should revenues be lower than expected or expenses higher than expected. There is no money or funds in the contingency and it does not appear in the public accounts. It is impossible to rundown the contingency as there is no money in the fund.
