- I created the article so I could get it started. If I did something incorrectly, you could have provided assistance instead of immediately marking things for deletion. What should I have done? I was simply trying to learn Wikipedia by working in it. I know you're a Wikipedia editor (I checked out your user page), so why could you not be helpful? Did you offer any assistance? No. You immediately marked the article for deletion. Then, when I commented above that my article had been marked for deletion within 5 minutes of its creation, you replied by trolling about not using Find A Grave as a source. Are you always this unprofessional, or are you just having an off day? I do not appreciate your snide remarks. I have the source in my hand from an October 3, 1979 Breck News Beat publication which mentions the perfect claim from 1938 as it had been reported in a 1945 Ripley's article. If you would like to be of any actual assistance, that would be wonderful. I could certainly use the guidance as I have not written anything in a wiki for several years and am quite rusty. - Ah, I believe I have found the Find A Grave reference you were talking about. No, that wasn't my source. Just because Find A Grave is the only place you could find the perfect year reference doesn't mean it's the only place it exists. Sometimes sources are available in a medium called paper. I didn't even know the Find A Grave page was there, but the information on it doesn't agree with the source I have in my possession. Looks like Joe Millay was in the U.S. Navy during WWII. There was a bowler with that name in the ABC sanctioned league for Navy personnel located in Port of Spain, Trinidad in 1944. He and the league are mentioned in the Bowling Encyclopdia. In the newspaper The Nebraska State Journal of April 16, 1944, it says Joe Millay, bowling instructor at the Naval Air Station, Trinidad, Venezuela, rolled games of 259. 249 and 300 for 805 on the night of March 19. He Is a former kegler from Evansville, Indiana. His average for the past four American Bowling Congress tournaments is 180. Five bowlers have rolled series over 800 since January 1, while the ABC has given out awards to 36 bowlers for 300 games since the 1943-44 season opened. --Bejnar (talk) 22:01, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
