Santorini edit

Why is Santorini, Greece cross-referenced with Jodhpur in the see also section?

Population edit

Article says: population 44,73,759 ¿What mean?, must be wrong, in 1901 population was 1.936.565 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.34.44.172 (talk) 18:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Corrected now, it is little lesser than that as 3,685,681 (Ref:Provisional Census Result 2011) Vikas Mathur 13:44, 25 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vikas.m (talkcontribs) [1]

This article desperately needs some referencing! At the moment, 30% sounds like a tourism flyer and another 30% sounds like it was written by schoolkids... 93.97.30.204 (talk) 12:30, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

POV in history section edit

There seems to be a bit of pro-Colonial bias left in the portions of the history section that were taken from Brittanica. Specifically the mentions of the princely state "gratefully" submitting to British suzerainty and "peace and stability" being a "hallmark" of the era of British rule. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.149.30 (talk) 04:45, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lonely Planet edit

"Jodhpur topped Lonely Planet's list of most extraordinary places to stay in 2014.[4]" - This is quite misleading. Lonely Planet actually referred to a particular luxury hotel on the outskirts of Jodhpur, rather than the city itself. I suggest this is removed? Maxlxng (talk) 08:44, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

History query edit

The following was written by an ip-editor on the ip's talk page rather than here.

Jodhpurs were FIRST "introduced" to the British in India in the 1800s HOWEVER Major Henderson, founder of the British North West Mounted Police chose them for his NWMP Force which would become the Canadian RCMP. Why no mention of all this in this entry? — Preceding unsigned comment added by User talk:2001:569:7BC3:7400:E85C:3DBF:1307:216D (talk)

Gallery of Jodhpur in the Main Page edit

I wanna add a Gallery section where we can add Main Street pictures, Main Tourist Attractions. So that People like me who are photographers can contribute in the photographs. Kushagra140 (talk) 17:25, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Kushagra140: An article on a city doesn't have a separate "Gallery" section. However, you can add images to the relevant sections of the article where the subject of the image belongs (like adding stadium image to the Sports subsection). You could find "Gallery" section on that particular tourist attraction's article and add images there. TrendSPLEND 08:05, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Showcase of Modern Jodhpur edit

I don't why you guys don't wanna showcase Modern Jodhpur on Wikipedia. I m trying to add modern landscapes of Jodhpur here but you all are removing it. This is unfair and Not good for Jodhpur too. You guys don't want Jodhpur to be developed. Kushagra140 (talk) 03:35, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Kushagra140, This article is not about Modern Jodhpur or the Ancient Jodhpur. It is about the real Jodhpur. The pics must convey the same. I removed the image of road panorama as I felt it was too large. It is linked by the link to images on commons link at the bottom of the page. So the users will read it. --Walrus Ji (talk) 04:13, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
