Cliffhanger (South Korean TV series)Mountain Jiri (TV series) – It appears to be the official English title according to the production company's website. [1] -- Seokgjin (talk) 14:28, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Cliffhanger (South Korean TV series)Jirisan (TV series) – I've seen the previous RM, so I hereby reason that, while the title is not official yet, someone used the title Cliffhanger because they misunderstood the source from the Korean Times, where it clearly uses the title Jirisan and says that it's inspired by the American movie Cliffhanger. And all of this happened before New Year... and now even the most reliable sources started using this title, so guess how they got the title. Regards. • Oppose - Korea Times and Yonhap News Agency use the proposed title but also use the current title. Furthermore, besides MEAWW.com, Jirisan is less often used recently. Hypebae uses the current title. Manila Bulletin uses the current title and "Mount Jiri" to refer to the TV show. Forbes use all three titles, but that still makes "Cliffhanger" more commonly used than the other two. I wonder why neither "Mount Jiri" nor "Mountain Jiri" is the current title for the actual Jirisan, whose transliteration form... I don't know what else to say about it. Nonetheless, this discussion is about the TV show, not the mountain, which can be discussed at another time. --George Ho (talk) 17:43, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment - We should wait until any official English title is issued by the production side since both the titles are equally used in reliable sources. Similar to Jun Ji-hyun's earlier drama My Love from the Star. -ink&fables «talk» 00:11, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@-ink&fables: Per WP:UCRN and Wikipedia:Official names, let's not default to official names that are seldom used by sources. Okay? George Ho (talk) 00:23, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@George Ho: Surely, we are supposed to use the most commonly recognizable name by reliable sources. But it has been seen that the official title issued for international audience is the one which becomes the most commonly used name. For example It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and My Love from the Star. Though all the three dramas were formerly (and at present interchangeably) referred to as Psycho But It's Okay, Goblin and You Who Came from the Stars respectively. But the most common at present are the titles issued by the production company of the respective series. But I can't be sure in this case because I don't have a crystal ball, so let a consensus decide what should be the name at present (or in future). Happy editing! -ink&fables «talk» 00:55, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
