120.16.178.209 (talk) 17:25, 4 July 2011 (UTC) perhaps "Avant-garde" would be a better description as I don't believe that "punk" or "shock rock" are adequate descriptors, although they certainly did shock people & seemed to get a kick of doing so. July 5th 2011Reply

RAM (June 1980) says "shock-rockers", McFarlane (1999) says "Shock rock" with "hard rock, jazz, reggae and disco", The Age (March 2003) says "punk-cabaret". I've gone with shock rock and new wave. All three sources are cited in the article now.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 12:16, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
