Chrissie Hynde edit

Corrected year of divorce to Chrissie Hynde and gave full name of daughter. Added details of second marriage to Patsy Kensit and of their son. --bUcKaRoO 02:03, 23 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

List Cruft edit

This article has now reached the ridiculous situation where two thirds of it is list cruft of set lists from individual concerts, none of which is cited from a reliable source. This is far too much detail of trivial information. Sure, we can list the concerts or tours, but every song performed at every gig?? I'm also not entirely sure that these lists aren't being used simply to link through to someone's Youtube account. I propose removing these and replacing them with a summary of the tours. Anyone disagree? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 09:31, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see Ohconfucius has gone ahead and done this. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:28, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
I guess I will add my two cents that the setlist for every single concert is unnecessary. Also unnecessary are the numerous youtube/video clips of songs being performed per WP:ELNEVER. Aspects (talk) 00:03, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This WP article dedicated to Jim Kerr edit

The situation is not ridiculous! I disagree! Maybe these lists are being used simply to link through to someone's Youtube account (but they aren't!): so what ? Why not listing every song performed at every gig? In that way I created a specific WP article about Jim Kerr's solo tours but it was deleted! I content myself with a paragraph about Jim Kerr's solo tours within the Jim Kerr WP article which lasted a couple of months... till some WP censors (Ohconfucius, Aspects & Escape Orbit) recently decided to destroy my work (I spent dozens of hours working on this article, particularly creating links to YouTube pages)

I can't stand looking at my work being destroyed just like that !

Many WP articles dedicated to artists or bands have a WP article about concert tours (check out WP articles about Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Iron Maiden, Lady Gaga, Owl City...). These informations about concert dates & locations are very useful ! Besides, these concerts make history ! Thus, a WP article dedicated to Jim Kerr's solo tours is worth existing and very useful to anyone interesting in Jim Kerr's solo & video footages of (actually) rare live performances.

I'm tired of having to fight against wikipedia's discrimination.

I don't think it's good for WP to discourage WP updaters. I'd appreciate you (or anyone at WP's) stopping to delete again my work.

This smacks of WP:OWN, which I have already warned you about on your talk page. This is not your article and you have to work with other editors to gain a consensus on issues. Escape Orbit started a discussion about the list cruft above and Ohconfucius agreed and deleted the information. You did not join the discussion or leave edit summaries explaining why you made the deletions and reverted back to your preferred version five times in a 24-hour period. You argument simply consists of WP:ILIKEIT and WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS arguments and does not deal with the fact that the information is WP:LISTCRUFT and does not have reliable sources to back up the information. I can understand where you are coming from, but the simple fact is that Jim Kerr's solo tours are not as notable as tours by Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Iron Maiden, Lady Gaga or Owl City. Notability is what determines what should be on Wikipedia. If you can demonstrate that Jim Kerr's solo tours are notable (by citing mentions of them, reviews etc) from reliable sources then you would have no problem keeping the articles you created. However, what you have been repeatedly doing so far is re-creating the exact same articles, and reverting the exact same content, with the exact same problems, and ignoring everything other editors have been trying to tell you. Please read the links. I would be happy to explain anything you don't follow or need clarification on. But I can't help you if you just ignore me.
Wikipedia is also not a fan site. Exhaustive set lists of individual gigs tends to be only of interest to keen fans, and not of interest to the average reader. This means they don't belong on Wikipedia. Filling the article with exhaustive lists of songs from individual gigs makes it very imbalanced and off-putting to casual readers. If the reader wants a list of Youtube videos of Jim Kerr's Lost Boy AKA tour then Youtube is the best place to get it, not Wikipedia. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 08:02, 16 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lurulu is once again turning this article into a list of gigs and Youtube links. We have a list of 11 YouTube videos from one gig, and a list of 17 gigs that were cancelled, i.e. did not even happen. I was going to explain why these are not appropriate, but find I would just be repeating exactly what was said last year. See my post above. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:23, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lurulu hasn't responded to my concerns, so I have removed these additions. If and when Lurulu wishes to discuss them I am happy to re-iterate my above points. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:34, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hotel in Sicily edit

I heard on BBC Radio 4 today (Saturday 25 August 2018) that Jim Kerr now runs a hotel in Sicily. If any one can find a reliable source for this, it could go in the article. Vorbee (talk) 08:15, 25 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
