The result of the proposal was no consensus. Redirects will have to do. --BDD (talk) 21:41, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Jim Ignatowski → ? – This is a fictional character from Taxi sitcom. "Reverend" is used by many sources (and fans alike). It should be added before "Jim", but should it be Reverend Jim or Reverend Jim Ignatowski? I made embarrassingly numerous attempts to change Coach Ernie Pantusso, but they failed. As I learned, nicknames and natural names can mix together. --Relisted.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:45, 27 November 2013 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 19:15, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Oppose change Wherever possible, such titles Rev. Right Rev. etc should not be used. See for example Billy Graham. See this extensive list Category:American evangelists devoid of the title, any title werldwayd (talk) 22:51, 18 November 2013 (UTC) werldwayd (talk) 22:54, 18 November 2013 (UTC) Permission granted --George Ho (talk) 23:48, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
I am sorry. I withdraw my comment as I jumped into conclusion real quick. I thought we were discussing real life reverends. The discussion is still open. I apologize werldwayd (talk) 23:32, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
I cannot fully grasp what you mean and your comparison with the real-life reverend and the fictional character. WP:NCP doesn't apply to Jim/Iggy, so... let's hear more from you. --George Ho (talk) 23:21, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Can I strike your prior comment then? George Ho (talk) 23:35, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Go ahead. Strike out the original comment werldwayd (talk) 23:46, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

As you say, this is a fictional character. This is the name he was known by on the show. Just keep it, there is no reason to change it, for the sake of change. Liz Read! Talk! 01:45, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Not all official names (or birth names) can be article names per WP:COMMONNAMES, Liz. Moviefone, Time, and American Spectator use "Reverend Jim" (or "Reverend Jim <surname hard to type or remember>"). Niagara and TMZ use the current title. Older sources called him "Rev. Jim" in Youngstown Vindicator, Williamson, etc. Books use Rev. Jim Igga., like [1][2][3][4]. Search in Google Books and News. George Ho (talk) 01:57, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
