Referring to an Ohio State player as "white" is unnecessary and potentially problematic for racial discrimination, "white Ohio State center Luke Witte."
Also, I believe the use of the word "fellow" is incorrect in this instance as it refers to players on opposing teams, "white Ohio State center Luke Witte was assaulted by fellow Gophers Corky Taylor and Ron Behagen in a game."
