The article was drafted some years ago by, I believe, someone who has since died. Consequently the most recent references are to events in 2007. A few points: 1) I have almost completely retired from business copywriting and editing - although that was my main career. Maybe "He was formerly...." 2) " as well as other works about Lawrence's life" - What does this refer to? Since 1997 my wife and I have been editing an (ongoing) scholarly edition of Lawrence's works and correspondence. We haven't jointly edited or published anything about Lawrence. 2) "He is acknowledged as the leading authority on T.E. Lawrence [1]" - Despite the reference there is no source (though I think Malcolm Brown once said something like that in a book review). Is such a statement really necessary? 3) "Wilson's first published work on Lawrence was an edition of Lawrence's commonplace book, Minorities; Good Poems by Small Poets and Small Poems by Good Poets, published in 1971. After considerable research, he was able to compose an introduction to the collection that gives readers an understanding of how the poems reflected Lawrence's life and thoughts. "In 1975, as a result of the success of Minorities, A. W. Lawrence appointed Wilson to be the authorised biographer of T. E. Lawrence. Wilson spent years of research, accumulating considerably more information about Lawrence than had been published before." - Is all that detail necessary? If the whole article went to these lengths, it would be very long. 4) "Through Castle Hill Press he and his wife edit and publish scholarly editions of Lawrence's works and correspondence." - this has already been said, more or less, in the first para. 5) "Wilson has given numerous papers on Lawrence, including..." I try to keep up-to-date a page on the T.E. Lawrence Studies website that lists my publications about T.E.Lawrence, public lectures, etc. Here is a link. The problem of attempting even a selective list here is that somebody would have to update it from time to time. If the external link is acceptable, I'd leave it at that. 5) "Wilson developed and manages a comprehensive T.E. Lawrence web site. This includes the texts of many of Lawrence's writings." - the web site has been discussed earlier. Jeremy M Wilson (talk) 19:30, 27 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
