The "laird" would have been George Gun Munro 4th of Poyntzfield who married Jemima Charlotte Graham, widow of the Jamaican plantation attorney and planter, Francis Graham, of the Drynie family, in Richmond on Thames on 26 April 1822 - with a bit of patience this can be verified on Ancestry. Thus the names of both Jemimaville and Poyntzfield commemorate marriages (both, it would seem, to women with Jamaican associations), in different generations of the same family which itself had strong connections with Grenada .Delahays (talk) 22:23, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Number of houses in Jemimaville edit

There are many more houses than the stated 18 in Jemimaville - they can be counted on aerial photography, although there are terraced houses on the main street which would have to be counted separately. It also contains a garage. There are many Listed Buildings in Jemimaville. The author Jane Duncan resided in Jemimaville for many years, first in Rose Cottage and then in the converted Old Store, the converted Poyntzfield Estate granary. She is buried in nearby Kirkmichael.
