Early Life

edit

There's virtually no information on his life before becoming an author here. It'd be a nice thing to have. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.222.233.219 (talk) 01:02, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Needs updating - badly!

edit

I came here while reading Finch in order to better understand the setting, etc. What I found was that this article is badly out of date. I made the one change I knew -- Finch was no longer an upcoming book and it was nominated for the Nebula -- but am sure that there's a lot more that's out of date. Can someone who knows more do some work on this article? --Fredrik Coulter (talk) 13:42, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Template {{update}} may be worthwhile. --P64 (talk) 20:54, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The last paragraph of 'Recent work' refers to upcoming novels as taken from an August 2017 interview. Noting that date would be useful. Also in that paragraph, "He's also working on a story called "The Three," based on the dead astronauts mentioned in Borne" - this is the novel 'Dead Astronauts', mentioned in the penultimate paragraph of the section. I'd change it myself, but the article is semi-protected. 212.139.13.2 (talk) 12:57, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Potential COI Disclosure

edit

I am acquainted with Mr. and Ms. Vandermeer. As always, my edits will be referenced to reliable sources and I am open to discussing any concerns. Holzman-Tweed (talk) 14:43, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Do you know anything about Jeff VanderMeer's contribution to Songs of the Dying Earth? --one of two among 22 contributions to that collection in honor of Jack Vance that is catalogued by ISFDB as a contribution to Vance's Dying Earth series. See the next section and its cross-refs. --P64 (talk) 20:54, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wizard Sarnod missing

edit

(quote from Songs of the Dying Earth) ^ ISFDB catalogs two of the stories as contributions to the Dying Earth series: VanderMeer, "The Final Quest of the Wizard Sarnod", and Shepard, "Sylgarmo's Proclamation".[2]

A longer version of the Jeff VanderMeer story was published as a chapbook in 500 signed and numbered copies, The Three Quests of the Wizard Sarnod (WSFA Press, 2010).[3] The occasion was Ann and Jeff VanderMeer's appearance at 2010 Capclave as featured guests.

RIP Neo

edit

Neo the Cat passed away recently although I can't find a source to cite other than social media. 🐦DrWho42👻 03:46, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

If the social media post about Neo's death comes from VanderMeer himself, is that considered a good enough source? https://x.com/jeffvandermeer/status/1840374779972288984 100.14.11.134 (talk) 22:07, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
